Egyptian writing
We have been looking at how the Egyptians communicated through hieroglyphics. We had to crack the coded message we were given before using the hieroglyphic alphabet to write our own names. We all agreed that even though it was fun, our English alphabet is much easier!

Today the children played the minims, noticing how the pitch goes higher as they go up the staff.
Egyptian Cinderella
Our new English text is a story set in another culture. So far we have made a prediction about what may happen using clues from the front cover and blurb, created a story mountain to tell the story and contrasted the English version with the Egyptian one. We are excited to read more next week.
