We have finished our step-by-step Instructions- How to Slay a Hydra - linking to our English topic (The Twelve Labours of Heracles). The class have all put in so much effort and they look absolutely fantastic!

Caterpillar update week 2!

Class 1 have hhad such fun observing our caterpillars. They are growing so fast and the children have noticed the caterpillar making webs, shedding little parts of their skin and have see lots of tiny poo!

Izzy has shown true kindness by making lemonade and selling it to raise funds for the school. She proudly donated £6. Thank you for being a courageous advocate Izzy. 

We have explored British Science Week in Class 3. This year the theme is Change and Adapt which we thought carefully about. We created posters to enter into a competition.  

Today class 2 started their ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ unit in English.

The children loved listening to the different letters the crayons wrote to Duncan, and then trying to portray the crayons emotions using their faces and freeze frames.

As part of British Science Week and linked to our topic Minibeasts Class 1 made a Wormery. This week Class 1 have been listening to the book 'Yucky Worms' and have found out so many facts about worms. We have attached the roll bar to our Greenpower cars and we have been testing to see whether they work when connected to the batteries. Year 5s have continued decorating the bodywork which will hopefully be attached to our vehicles next week.

The costumes for World Book Day were incredible. Well done to everyone for dressing up.

We are very proud of our netball team who did so well in our MAT netball tournament.

We have started writing our own pieces of music and have been busy rehearsing. We know lots about crochets and minims. 
 

In May we will be celebrating VE Day. In preparation, the village will be decorated with hundreds of poppies painted by local school children. Today we used watercolours to paint our poppies ready to display. See if you can recognise yours when walking through the village! 
 

Class 2 have outdone themselves this year with their wonderfully imaginative costumes representing their favourite stories!
