Creating rocks from Starburst sweets
In Science, we have been studying how rocks are formed. We have created models of the sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks through using Starburst sweets. We analysed the features of each ‘rock’ to create each rock form. We had lots of fun.
Sketching skills in Art
We have been practising our sketching skills with our pencils. We have then applied them to our sketches of the Gherkin building in London.

Our collage birds in class 2!
Here in class 2 we love to be creative and explore new things.
This term are exploring colour and collage.
The children spent time drawing a bird, then using different colours from newspapers and magazines, created beautifully bright collages.

Summer has officially arrived here in class 2!
It was so hot here at Anson on Thursday that we decided to take some time to relax and chill out… literally, with our feet in some lovely, cooling water!
What’s the time?
Year 3 used the teaching clocks to practise telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes during Maths. It was quite tricky at first so great perseverance Year 3!
Music
Today Class 3 used the musical instruments to help them with their composition skills, it sounded great!
A very sunny Thursday
Class 2 spent some time this morning outside in our outdoor area tending to our vegetable patch, and weeding the allotment.
Sports Day practise
Today we enjoyed practising the different races we will be competing in at Sports Day next week.
Phonics fun!
Here in class 2 we love Monster phonics.
We always start our lessons with a quick recap of the graphemes we already know, followed by the introduction of our new focus grapheme for that lesson.

Caring for our vegetable patch
Class 1 headed out to care for our forest school area and our vegetable patch. The children picked up as many weeds as they could and tended to our classes vegetable patches. We tied up the peas to the canes and weeded in the beds.
Afterwards we sat down to have some afternoon fruit and a drink…
