Sketching our Church
In Art, we have applied our skills to sketch our church. We thought hard about proportion as well as light and shade. We used a range of pencil types to create our artwork.
Sketching in Art and Design
We have started our new Art and Design unit on Sketching.

Children's Mental Health Week 2026
The theme for Children's Mental Health Week 2026 is 'This is My Place', and the aim is to support the systems around children and young people to help them feel they belong.
Each child in class 3 shared how they feel they belong. They then designed a card all about them explaining the things…
Circuits with Switches
In Science, we have been learning about insulators and conductors. We investigated materials in a circuit, such as wood, copper, foil and glass. We then created our own switches using materials we knew were conductors. We were really pleased when the bulb lit up.
Investigating Electricity
We have been learning about electricity. We created our own circuits and understand that in order for electricity to flow, there can't be a break in the circuit. We explored this by creating a human circuit which lit up our energy stick. We were very impressed.
Gymnastics
Class 3 have loved starting their gymnastics lessons today. Lots of floor work was covered. They will transfer their skills to apparatus soon.
Class 3 at Young Voices

Magnetic Fields
We have been investigating magnetic fields in Science. We placed magnets under a piece of paper and then sprinkled some iron filings onto the paper. The filings created patterns when they attracted or repelled. This was lots of fun to see and we know much more about magnetic fields…
Waterproofing origami boats
We have been learning about the British designer Charles Macintosh and how he waterproofed material. We learnt how to origami fold paper boats and then we worked on waterproofing them. We had a range of materials like sticky tape, wax crayons and plastic wallets to choose from. Once we had…
Investigating surfaces in Science
We have learnt about John McAdam in Science. He was a Scottish engineer who modernised the way we build our roads. We investigated lots of different surfaces using toy cars and Newton Meters. We reflected on what properties made a successful road.
