Geography - card games.
This afternoon we wrote cards with the definition for different river features eg meander or estuary. We then played a memory game to match the definitions up, in small groups.
Recycled sculptures inspired by Richard and Judith Lang
We have analysing the artwork of Richard and Judith Lang. They collect rubbish from the beach and create sculptures of sea creatures.
We have designed and and created our own sculptures. We love them.
Dice game for multiplication
The Year 4 children are still practising their times tables every day in preparation for their upcoming multiplication check. Today they played a new game where they rolled 2 dice and whatever numbers they landed on they multiplied together and had to work out the answer in 6 seconds! Fast maths…
Yoyo and the The Little Auk
Class 3 have been studying the music piece Yoyo and The Little Auk. We listened carefully to the music and created our own graphic notation to go with the piece. We then selected percussion instruments to create our own version of the music.
VE Day - 80 years!
Today we came to school dressed in red, white and blue for Victory in Europe day. We gathered as a school at our Memorial garden for a one minutes silence at noon, followed by a special prayer.
In Class 3 we watched video clips from 1945 to show what celebrations were like in London 80 years…
New topic, Rivers.
Our new topic this term will be a Geography focus on Rivers.

A Roman Banquet!
This morning we used spelt flour to bake our own Roman recipe bread. Spelt is an ancient grain widely grown during Roman times. We also enjoyed trying other Roman snacks such as figs, olives and the more familiar grapes and pears. Most of us agreed we prefer modern day food!
