Our new topic this term will be a Geography focus on Rivers.

We hope you have a lovely Easter! Here are some photos of us making your Easter cards. We discussed the symbolism on the card, the crucifix to remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us all and the egg shape and flowers to remind us of new life.
French poetry
The children enjoyed using a bi lingual French dictionary to look up words for their Easter French poem. Super confident work!
Planting potatoes
Today some of our class spent some time in the outdoor classroom planting potatoes.
Orienteering round 2
Today we completed another orienteering course, the time working independently to record the letter placed at each coloured check point.
Times Tables Rockstars Champions
Congratulations to this terms TTRS most improved players! All the children have worked super hard on their tables this week, keep it up Class 3!
A Roman Banquet!
This morning we used spelt flour to bake our own Roman recipe bread. Spelt is an ancient grain widely grown during Roman times. We also enjoyed trying other Roman snacks such as figs, olives and the more familiar grapes and pears. Most of us agreed we prefer modern day food!
Orienteering
Today we completed our first orienteering course in PE. We used a map of the school grounds to navigate our way to retrieve the markers identified on the maps. We worked in teams to find the quickest way to complete the course without missing out any check points.
Red Nose Day 2025
We had a lovely mixture of outfits today, pyjamas, bright red tops, clothes on back to front, tops with jokes on them and of course red football shirts. We had a discussion about Comic Relief and what it tries to do then completed a ‘nose-it-all’ quiz in teams. We then watched some funny video…

Today we looked back at the plans we made for Lent a few weeks ago. We reflected back on what we planned we could give up, or what new skill we could learn during Lent. We discussed obstacles to our plans, how to overcome them and how it is never to late to start and make that important change.

Watercolour poppies for the Village
In May we will be celebrating VE Day. In preparation, the village will be decorated with hundreds of poppies painted by local school children. Today we used watercolours to paint our poppies ready to display. See if you can recognise yours when walking through the village!
