Visit to Shugborough to meet the Play Designers

We have had a wonderful walk over to Shugborough Hall to meet Henry and Hayley from Flights of Fantasy. We were kindly invited to this session as a follow up to the designs that Year 4 and 5 created last year to support the design process of the new playground at Shugborough. 

The designers have really listened to our designs and have included 3 zip lines, monkey bars, tube slide, wide slides to go down with a friend and more swings! To support creative play, there will be den building and loom weaving with twigs and leaves. We are excited to visit the insect garden that will also be included. 

Now the plans are finalised, the carpenters will begin building the playground with all natural materials. Henry shared the safety equipment which the carpenters will wear when building the playground. We had fun trying it all on. We handled lots of the materials that will be included in the playground. 

Henry explained how important the accessibility of the playground is for all! The design allows wheelchairs to travel all around the playground, including a treetop walkway. 

All of the materials used in the playground are from England. 

The playground will hopefully be ready in 2026. We are already excited!
