Charcoal in Art
We have started our art unit on Charcoal today. We used charcoal sticks to explore techniques such as hatching, cross hatching, blending, stippling, scrumbling and expressive lines. Well done children.
New saint and value
Our new value for this half term is ‘Responsibility’. The saint we are learning about is St Mary, who was chosen to be the mother of Jesus. This was not just a responsibility but a huge honour!
New History Topic

Duffy’s Lucky Escape!
We have started our year by reading the book Duffy’s Lucky Escape. We have written some poetry based on the illustrations. We have also drawn the turtle in art and worked on our colour blending skills.
Anson’s got talent auditions

Today we used an atlas to locate different UK mountains. We then used different materials to recreate the topography of them as show on the maps.
Creating City Skylines
We have created our final pieces in our art unit today. We have been analysing architecture and developing our sketching skills. We combined them all together to create our own city skyline. Fantastic work Class 3!
Terrific Transition Day!
Our current Y2 and Y3 children spent the whole day together today, as the new Class 3! They enjoyed being in the same cohort once again and completed lots of beautiful Art task to put their own stamp on the class ready for September.

Courageous Advocacy in Class 3
A small group of our girls have designed bookmarks and sold them at break time to raise money for the new trim trail. They’ve worked very hard and so far raised £25! Amazing result girls, thank you for all of your efforts.
Creating rocks from Starburst sweets
In Science, we have been studying how rocks are formed. We have created models of the sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks through using Starburst sweets. We analysed the features of each ‘rock’ to create each rock form. We had lots of fun.
