Happy Harvest!
Class 3 did a super job sharing their poem during our Harvest service this afternoon. Thank you families as well, for the generous donations of food to be given to those in need.
Maths games
We have enjoyed some practical activities to support our Maths this week. The Y4 children worked in pairs and had to take a card each from the pile and work out the answer (4 digit addition and subtraction). The winner was the person with the largest answer. The Y3 children also worked in pairs,…
MacMillan coffee and cake morning
The children enjoyed buying some cakes and cookies to raise money for charity this morning. Thank you for your donations parents, we will count up and let you know the total amount raised very soon.
Investigating Light
We have enjoyed investigating how shadows are formed when an object blocks light. We discussed how the object must be opaque or translucent in order for a shadow to form.
Lighting it Up in Design and Technology
We have been investigating electrical circuits in Design and Technology. We created the circuits and tested materials such as foil, coins and scissors.
Hieroglyphics
Today we stained paper with tea bags and scrunched the edges to make it look like papyrus paper. We then learnt about how Ancient Egyptians communicated around 4000 years ago and used hieroglyphics to write our names and a secret message on our paper.
A visit from Pep the Poet
Pep the Poet visited us today and we had lots of fun acting out some of his poems. He taught us how to use our voices to add expression to make the poems more exciting for the listener.
Roald Dahl Day
Well done children for the brilliant efforts to dress as your favourite Roald Dahl characters today! In class we enjoyed some Roald Dahl music, mindfulness colouring and poetry.
Creating Egyptian neck collars
To start our Egyptians topic, we looked at what the Egyptians wore. We followed some designs we read about, to create our own Egyptian jewellery to wear on our Egyptian workshop on a few weeks time.
