English - New class text

We have loved starting our new English text, ‘A Roman soldiers handbook’. It is jam packed with new facts. We have so far learnt the requirements to meet in order to become a soldier, the punishments for disobedience and how the army was organised. As well as adding to our Historical knowledge, during English today we identified the features of an information text, such as subheadings, captions, factual language and writing in the third person.  In a few weeks time we will be using our new writing skills and History facts to write our own guide to becoming a member of the Roman army!
