Investigating how far sound can travel

We have been investigating how far sound can travel. We used the Sound Meter App to record the decibels of a sound at different distances from the sound source. 

We understand that sound waves spread out from a source in all directions and that you can hear it if you move all around the source. As you get further away from the source, the sound wave spreads over a large area therefore the volume (loudness) of the sound gets smaller.
