Today in science we carried out comparative tests using lots of different materials to test their absorbency.
Using our scientific inquiry skills, we made predictions about which material we thought would be the most absorbent, and which material would be the least absorbent.
Together, in table groups we carried out our experiments and took our time to dunk our different materials into some liquid.
We then left them to soak for 1 minute before taking them back out and testing whether they had absorbed any of the test liquid.
We were able to deduce from our experiments that sponge was the most absorbent and therefore the best material to use to make our MAGS (Maximum Absorbency Garment). Cloth came a close second leaving wood, cork and card the least desirable material to use for our nappy!
