In our RE session today, Class 1 had the opportunity to find out more about Easter and Holy Week. Today we focused on Good Friday and found out what happened on Good Friday and how Christians celebrate this sad day in church by not having flowers or decorations and just a simple cross on the altar.
We also found out that hot cross buns are traditionally eaten on Good Friday to remember that Jesus died on the cross. We also talked about how the cross on top of the bun represents the cross Jesus died on and that the shape of the bun can be seen to represent the stone door of the tomb Jesus was placed in.
We were then all lucky enough to be able to taste a hot cross bun - they were delicious!
