Today, in Class 1 we have been finding out about Remembrance Day and the connection to poppies. We talked about the wars and how on Remembrance Day we remember those who lost their lives or were injured in wars. We also found out that people chose to buy and wear poppies and lay wreaths to remember the soldiers and raise money to support the soldiers and their families.
We watched the beautiful CBeebies animation and were amazed to find out that there are four different colour poppies that you can wear, not just red.
After we watched the animation, we then all decided to all make our own poppy and worked together to create two poppy wreaths, one for the soldiers and one for the animals and we are looking forward to taking them to our Remembrance Service tomorrow to share with you all.
