What a spectacular day!
Class 1 and Class 2 both took part in a fantastic Monster Phonics Day.
The children came to school dressed as a Monster from Monster Phonics land and immersed themselves in all things Monster Phonics. We had sound hunts, made face masks, made our monsters in construction materials, high frequency splat games, reading book searches, practised our letter formation in rice trays and we even made Monster Phonics land with each monster having their own tray all about them.
Class 1 also had a stay and play phonics session, where our grown ups came to learn more about how the children are taught phonics. The children each told the grown ups about the monsters and how we say our pure sounds, they then shared all of our wonderful monster phonics activities with us!
Well done Class 1 for such a brilliant day!
