Today, in our maths session Class 1 explored 2D Shapes and their properties. Class 1 went out to the outside classroom and Mrs Philp challenged the children to work either individually or with a partner to make a 2d shapes out of the natural resources they found in the outdoor classroom. The children chose a particular shape, told Mrs Philp or Mrs Castell it’s name and properties and then found the resources needed to make the shape. We had some super squares, remarkable rectangles, tremendous triangles and cracking circles! All the children thoroughly enjoyed this activity and were incredibly keen to show us which shape they had made and to see if they could make all the different 2D shapes!
Brilliant work Class 1!
