10 September 2021
On Friday 10th September Anson's Outdoor Classroom was officially opened by our former CEO Paul Lovern and New CEO Mrs Gethin. Class 3 loved taking part in the opening ceremony and some of Class 3's council's even said a few words to the whole school and our visitors. We love the fact that our new outdoor classroom has officially opened and also enjoyed getting the opportunity to meet Ralph, Mrs Gethin's school dog! After the ceremony we got to enjoy an ice-cream in celebration! We had a great time!
Having this special outdoor classroom will help all the pupils at Anson to achieve and develop their confidence and self-esteem through hands-on experiences in a natural environment.
Learning outdoors will teach children to develop their communication, perseverance, problem solving and teamwork skills as well as gaining new knowledge about the great outdoors.
The outdoor classroom will provide lots of benefits such as:
- Habitats for our local wildlife such as the bird boxes and bug houses.
- Anson will be more sustainable as we can plant our own fruit and vegetables
- Anson’s children will learn to protect their environment so they can enjoy it for many years to come.
The children really can’t wait to get using the outdoor classroom and thank you to everyone that has made it possible.
