To hook us into learning about William Shakespeare, we imagined we were the Capulets and the Montagues (two families that have been feuding with each other for years). We had a go at using Shakespearean insults to show our ‘ hatred’ for each other! We started by imagining we were at a party, and insulting each other as we passed by. We discussed how insults could be delivered in different ways, for example shouting or whispering and how this would change our tone of voice and body language. Then, we split up into two groups and imagined we were the two families having a battle of words on the streets of Verona!
