Class 2 have been learning all about their senses in science this week.
We had a go at predicting what was in a cup by using our sense of smell, what was in the bag using our sense of touch, and what the sound was using our sense of hearing.

The Muddy Jar
Today class 2 tried ‘stilling’.
As part of understanding spirituality, we looked within ourselves and how sometimes our emotions can swirl all around us when we are shook, much like the mud within our muddy jar. However, over time and with reflection we can help these emotions settle.

Our Christingles
Class 2 made some wonderful Christingles this year and enjoyed the service at St Stephen’s church in preparation for Christmas.
Active Phonics
Year 1 this week have had the opportunity to engage in some active phonics.
Very similar to our active maths, the children have been moving around our classroom and engaging in different phonics activities.
This has included some Black Cat grapheme word sheets, ‘Read, Make, Write’ activities…
