Choosing time
The children are enjoying choosing their own activities this afternoon as a little treat before we break up! They are busy constructing, balancing, puzzle solving, colouring and completing maths challenges on Numbots!
Opaque and transparent
This afternoon the children explored the properties different materials to determine which would be best to block out light from the sun, on a nasa rocket.
Bringing our stories to life through music!
Today the children brought their stories to life with their chosen instruments. It was wonderful to hear how through their choice of instruments and method of delivery, they were able to tell their stories.
Outdoor painting
This afternoon we took our art lesson outside to put our skills to the test by painting the sky. We talked about colour mixing, tones, shades, brush strokes, abstract concepts and artistic license. They all created beautiful pieces that embodied everything we have learnt this term.
All things David Attenborough!

Testing absorbency

Music-story telling
The children have been listening to music that tells a story and have created their own storyboards, thinking about which instruments will work best to depict each section of their story. Next week they will be using the instruments to turn their drawings into music!
Turner skies
Wow! The children have been exploring colour mixing and adding black and white to experiment with tone and shade. They produced some thoughtful and dramatic skies, inspired by the work of William Turner.
That’s not my rocket!
The children tested their sense of touch today as they felt different fabrics and tried to match them to the ones on our feely board. Then we took our learning outside and described why ‘that’s not my rocket’ as we found different materials to make its body out of.
Sikhi meditation
The children had a wonderfully calming R.E. Lesson this afternoon, learning all about the importance of meditation in the Sikhi faith.
Colour wheels
We’ve been learning all about primary and secondary colours this afternoon. We painted our colour wheels, mixing our own secondary colours!
History-Queen Elizabeth I
Today we’ve been learning all about Queen Elizabeth I and life in Tudor times. The children made masks of Queen Elizabeth I, King Henry VIII and a jester!
