Art club - making lions!
We had a lovely lunch time making toilet tube lions!
Twycross Zoo
What a wonderful day we had at the zoo! We saw so many wonderful animals, from tigers to turtles, penguins to primates, we even saw a Gruffalo!
DT - making carp kites
Today we started making carp kites. The children did a fantastic job sticking on all their scales!
Science-is it waterproof?
Today we explored materials to discover if they were waterproof. We made predictions based on our prior knowledge, then experimented to see if we were right or not!
Practical Maths
We’ve had great fun in class this week exploring position and direction. The children have been using positional language to direct their friends around the carpet and challenging each other to build matching cube towers based on positional instruction. They all did extremely well!

Testing stretchy materials
Class 2 have been exploring how stretchy different materials are today. They all made predictions prior to experimenting and discussed the merits of each material and how to improve their experiments next time.
Choosing time
The children are enjoying choosing their own activities this afternoon as a little treat before we break up! They are busy constructing, balancing, puzzle solving, colouring and completing maths challenges on Numbots!
Opaque and transparent
This afternoon the children explored the properties different materials to determine which would be best to block out light from the sun, on a nasa rocket.
Bringing our stories to life through music!
Today the children brought their stories to life with their chosen instruments. It was wonderful to hear how through their choice of instruments and method of delivery, they were able to tell their stories.
Outdoor painting
This afternoon we took our art lesson outside to put our skills to the test by painting the sky. We talked about colour mixing, tones, shades, brush strokes, abstract concepts and artistic license. They all created beautiful pieces that embodied everything we have learnt this term.
All things David Attenborough!
Today we have been celebrating the 100th birthday of David Attenborough. We’ve been doing word searches, bug hunts and even embracing the Attenborough whisper! The children were challenged with finding 3 extraordinary wonders in our outdoor classroom; something that moves, something that grows…
