In our History lesson, we learnt more about the Ancient Egyptian mummification process. We used a tomato to represent the human body and scooped out the seeds (which represented internal organs), before covering the inside of the tomato in salt to preserve it, just like the Egyptians did to preserve bodies thousands of years ago. We then wrapped it gently in many layers of bandages, decorated with amulets for good luck. We will store them and cut them open in a few weeks to see whether the salt has preserved them or whether they have gone rotten!
