What a fantastic time Class 1 have had finding out about and celebrating VE Day today.
Class 1 have been busy making flags by collaging with strips of paper, using loose parts or our pegs and peg boards and designing their own medals and deciding what quality they would present their medal for. The children have also used their phonic skills to write about VE Day and their number skills to 20 to spot and write which numbers are missing from some of the medals. Amazing work Class 1.
Before lunch we met with all our friends and teachers in the hall to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a one minute silence and prayers in our Remembrance garden. It was very moving.
This afternoon we had such fun with our friends in Class 2 and 3 while Class 4 where on their trip and played the traditional games, What’s the time Mr Wolf, Captain’s Order and Simon Says on the field. After we’d played these games, we then went into the hall to enjoy a party tea and played some more games and with some different toys.
