Space!

Class 1 have kick started the term learning all about Space! Their knowledge has been amazing to hear and their excitement and enthusiasm has been wonderful!

We have delved into lots of non-fiction texts about Space and we now know all 8 planets and a little bit about each one of them. We started by going on a trip into space closing our eyes blasting off together then opening our eyes to watch a video of the ground getting further and further away and watching our journey into space. We then wrote captions in Literacy about the planets, we made space vehicles out of mobilo, we created rocket pictures and we had a go at using marbles to roll in paint over our planets and made small solar system pictures. We then used all our knowledge we had learnt to create a huge loose part Solar System picture on the carpet putting our planets in the correct order and adding the features we had learnt about.
