Staffordshire Wildlife Trust's 2022-30 Strategy (mobile) by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust - Issuu

We have had a fantastic day at the Wolseley Centre!

Class 1 and 2 had a wonderful time and learnt so much about caring for wildlife, following our Cannock chase codes and about mini-beasts.

We watched a video and listened to our guides with some top tips and key information, then we went on a walk following our maps where we had to check off the star checkpoints on our map and we discussed which of the codes we should think about in each of the different areas. Thinking about the dangers of water and watching out for animals.

We then went on a minibeast hunt where we used nets and swished them around in the long grass and tried to identify what we had caught. We used sieves and bug catchers to check through the leaves and logs to find any bugs.

After lunch we built our minibeast hotels, we went on a hunt to find the right materials for certain bugs and we have been asked to take them home and place them in our garden, under a hedge or tucked away area. In two weeks time we need to check on our hotels to see which creatures have made it there home!

Thinking about the Cannock Chase codes we looked at how we can recycle to keep rubbish from littering nature and we worked together to sort some rubbish depending on what the material is. Well done Class 1!

We also made a picture of the things we had learnt on looking after wildlife and the nature around us.

You have all been superstars and we hope you have all had a wonderful day!
