Active maths!

Every Thursday here in class 2 the children have the chance to engage in some active maths. 

We’re currently exploring place value in both year 1 and year 2 so the children have been doing lots of place value practice using our tens frames, base ten and rekenreks whilst showing their working out through some fabulous number sentences on their whiteboards.

We show our working out in lots of different ways here in Class 2, through part-part whole models, place value charts and mathematical STEM sentences. All of the children are working unbelievably hard at consolidating their knowledge using these skills!
