Exploring numbers to 20

In our maths sessions this week, Class 1 have been exploring numbers to 20. Today we had an active maths session in our outside area and had different activities set up at different cones. The children had to travel to a cone and recognise the number the numicon was showing. Once they recognised the number, they had to do a set activity at each station, carefully counting to make sure they did the correct number of actions at each cone. The children had lots of fun and were brilliant at recognising each number and counting aloud to each number, but were quite exhausted at the end after lots of bunny hops, knee taps, star jumps and shuttle runs!
