What an exciting Roald Dahl Day in Class 1

Wow! What fantastic outfits for Roald Dahl Day in Class 1.
 

We have been fortunate to meet Charlie Bucket and Verruca Salt from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, the Giant Peach from James and the Giant Peach, the BFG, some of the Witches from The Witches, Matilda and the RolyPoly Bird just in Class 1 alone.  We meet many more characters during our special assembly and Mr Davis and the teachers had the tricky job to decide the best in each class. Congratulations to our winner, the RolyPoly bird!

Once back in Class 1, we shared the story of The Enormous Crocodile and had fun engaging in some different Enormous Crocodile activities in our inside and outside areas. We worked together outside in small groups to make some traps to trap the Enormous Crocodile in. Some of the children were very busy in the mud kitchen making some food to entice the Enormous Crocodile into the traps. Inside, we made some smaller traps using our construction resources, practised our cutting skills to add teeth to the crocodile, retold the story with finger puppets and planned some foods for the crocodile to eat to tempt him away from trying to eat children!
