Flower Power Author visit

For this first week back, we have read and based our work around the book ‘Flower Power’. It tells the story of a small flower, neglected and forgotten about who through difficulties perseveres and with a little care and lots of love eventually blooms into the tallest, prettiest flower in the garden! We have thought about our own challenges this year, such as learning times tables or joining our handwriting and discussed how we will face these challenges and support each other - with love and determination we can achieve anything! Our PSHE has focused on friendships and support and in our English we have created a ‘Resilience’ acrostic poem. On Friday the author Caroline came to read us the story and answer any questions we had about writing and publishing. She told us about her own life too and has inspired us to believe and achieve this year!
