It was time to release our butterflies!
We had to wait until it was sunny and warm and we carefully took them out to let them warm their wings in the sun to help them fly.
Then we studied the butterflies to see if we could tell if they were male or female and saw how furry their bodies were and how symmetrical their colourful wings were.
Once we had released them all we waved goodbye to our butterflies and watched them sitting on the flowers in Ansons school grounds.
It has been a fascinating journey watching our tiny caterpillars transform into big and fat caterpillars, cocoons and now butterflies. Class 1 have kept a record of the amazing transformation in their Caterpillar diaries, keeping track of every stage.
Well done Class 1 for being super scientists!
