Ordering natural resources by length

Our maths focus this week has been exploring the length of different items, comparing lengths and using the key vocabulary relating to size. In the outdoor classroom today, the children were challenged to find one item. Once the children had found an item, they went on a hunt around the area to see if they could find something that was shorter then their item and something that was longer. The children focused carefully to find their items.  The children then carefully ordered their items from shortest to longest and were able to use the key vocabulary to describe the differences in length. Some children then decided to see if they could find any items that were the same size as the original item - this proved slightly more challenging!
