Today in science, we have been on a sound hunt around our school to investigate if sound can travel through different materials. We found out that sound can in fact travel through materials such a wood, metal, plastic and glass. Our findings told us that it travels best through glass.
We then carried out the paper cup telephone experiment. We held a cup taut and a piece of string to see if we could hear the sound travelling from one cup to another. We found out that sound vibrations travelled through the the string, into the cup and finally into our ear.
What a fun afternoon we have had being sound detectives!
