Image of Mental Health Week - Apple Crumble Making

This afternoon, we all helped Mrs Buckley to prepare an apple crumble for our school dessert tomorrow! We used the apples harvested from our own school fruit trees. We worked together to peel and chop the apples ready to be stewed. Some of us weighed out the flour, butter, sugar and oats using the measuring scales ready for the crumble topping.

Cooking improves mental health due to the following benefits:

  • Cooking Supports a Brain-Boosting Diet.
  • Cooking Increases Social Connection.
  • Cooking Boosts Self-Esteem.
  • Cooking Can Help You Build a Routine.
  • Cooking Expands Creativity.
  • How to Get Started.

Class 3 had great fun and some of the children are looking forward to trying the crumble tomorrow!
