What an amazing day we’ve had celebrating the launch of our ‘Recommended Reading books’ Today we've
taken part in loads of activities to celebrate the day!
This year we have been very fortunate to be able to spend some money on new and exciting books for each
class. These books have been carefully chosen to engage and excite our children in the fantastic world of
reading!
Each class will have a variety of new books ready for the children to choose and read in school and at home. We ask that these books are treated with care and kindness whilst at home so that other children may also enjoy
them too!
Staff members in school will track which books and how many books each child has read, and at the end of the
year, the children who have read the most books will be entered into a prize draw which will see one child from each key stage win a Kindle!
Your child has the opportunity to change their Recommended Reads books once they have completed it. They’ll be expected to complete a book review on that book, to demonstrate their understanding, knowledge and enjoyment of the recommended read book they have read.
Thank you for your continued support. We are very excited about this opportunity and we are sure the children are too!
