Dentists

In our topic lessons this week we have been scientists. 
We found out about look after our teeth and what Dentists do. We explored food and drink that are good or bad for our teeth, how to burns our teeth in the correct way, how many milk teeth and adult teeth we have and much more.

We set up an experiment to see what happens if we don’t look after our teeth, we used 3 apples for this. We looked after our first apple and brushed the outside, we kept forgetting every now and then about the second apple and we poked 1 hole in it and then the third apple we didn’t look after at all and we poked lots of holes in it. We made our predictions of what would happen to the inside and then after 2 days we looked at the apples again and saw that they had gone brown inside where we hadn’t looked after them!

We also learnt some new words and their meanings - enamel and plaque!

We made a dentist surgery and used some special equipment to fix some poorly teeth!
