Exploring 1 less than with snowballs!

In maths today Class 1 were exploring the concept of one less than. The children had great fun using snowballs to help them find one less than a given number.

In this activity, the children used their subitising and number recognition skills and practised their number formation on our fantastic writing pads.  The children enjoyed counting out the correct number of snowballs to match the number they rolled on a dice and then throwing one snowball back away to find one less than their number.
