Canalside Farm for Class 3 on Wednesday 4th November.

The children will be at school to have their lunch as normal. Children must wear their school uniform and make sure they have a waterproof coat. They should come to school in their normal school shoes, with their wellies in a bag to change into for the visit.

Whilst at Canalside, the children will have a farm tour from Canalside staff, where they will see the Maize Maze and Pumpkin Patch and walk through the tunnels where the farmers usually grow the soft fruits- strawberries, blackberries, boysenberries and raspberries. The staff will then explain about growing seasons and the work that goes into growing so many different fruits.

They will then go on a guided farm shop tour, where the staff will talk about what's grown in the UK and what is from abroad. They will look at why some items cannot be grown here and how Canalside supports other local farmers. Finally they will have a look at the bakery and hear about how sourdough is made here.
